Answer to Question 1

A
Altering the stressor by making rules for the car use would change the stress at its source. Response B is ineffective because Mr. Gonzalez would be faced with the stress of being unable to go to the senior center and shopping. Response C is a good stress management strategy, but it is a quick technique and does not change the stressor. Response D is not the best answer. Exercise is a good stress reliever, but Mr. Gonzalez would not have dealt with the worry and stress related to the condition of his car and his lack of transportation.

Answer to Question 2

B
Responses A, C, and D are good techniques for preventing food-borne infections, as are proper food storage, eating and refrigerating cooked foods immediately, and keeping food preparation areas clean. Avoiding individuals with food-borne infections is incorrect. One cannot catch a food-borne infection.
