Answer to Question 1

C
Individuals may be uncooperative if they have not been approached properly and asked to participate. If testing takes long, the attention span may be affected. There may also be a reaction if the adult is pushed beyond his or her competency. Older adults would not become uncooperative because they have the full attention of the nurse.

Answer to Question 2

D
The role of the nurse has become increasingly diverse as the settings of care expand. In all venues, nurses may be teachers, activity planners, and supervisors. In retirement centers, assisted living, and home care, it may be the nurse who assists the older adult in determining ways to fill the day. LPNs are placed more and more in supervisory roles in long-term and in acute care settings, supervising the entire patient environment and the people interacting within it.
