TPN is a cause of low blood levels of copper. Although TPN is necessary to provide nutrition for some seriously ill patients, it does not provide an adequate intake of all nutrients.

Ulcerations of the skin are abnormal skin changes. Development of a pressure ulcer might be a sign of lack of activity or repositioning. Responses A, B, and C all are normal skin changes.
