Answer to Question 2

Some psychologists study animal behavior because they find it interesting in and of itself. Animal studies can also give us an idea about the relationship between the animal and its environment. This could lead to efforts at preservation of these environments, helping endangered species. Some psychologists have the goal of learning how to control wild pests, like rats. Finally, animal research can provide clues about enhancing the welfare of captive and domesticated animals.
