The use of different methodologies allows us to study the same concept from different perspectives so we can gain increased confidence in our conclusions when the different approaches point in the same direction. In addition, different approaches can help us answer slightly different questions associated with the concept of interest.

(b) Social desirability bias, in which a person believes and states certain things that are not actually accurate.
