Answer to Question 1

False
RATIONALE: In keeping with national legislation known as the Law of Return, the state of Israel has always granted citizenship to any Jew who wishes to live there. Following the 19481949 war, waves of new immigrants from Europe (Ashkenazi Jews) joined the Middle Eastern Sephardic Jews who had lived in Palestine and other parts of the Middle East (and until 1492, in Spain) since early times.

Answer to Question 2

The term Europe came into popular use just prior to World War 1 and refers to a Eurocentric vernacular region with Europe at the center, the Far East of China and Japan, the Near East of the Ottoman Empire.
