Answer to Question 1

If the deposit was from a braided stream, you would expect the deposit to contain mostly layers of sand and gravel. Breccias and conglomerates would be the predominant rock types.

If the deposit was from a meandering stream, you would expect to see a mix of sand and mud. Beds would be less thick than deltas.

If the deposit was a delta, you would expect to see progressively finer sediments in a seaward direction, and coarser sediments towards the top of the sequence. It might also be possible to identify bottomset, foreset, and topset beds. Sediments would contain some sand, and lots of silt, clays, and muds.

Answer to Question 2

lava, magma
