Answer to Question 1

One limitation is the lack of empirical evidence. The theory has not been tested scientifically and because of the changes in society since the theory was proposed, some testing should be done.

Answer to Question 2

Erikson proposed eight different stages of psychosocial development that he framed as developmental crises. The successful resolution of these crises means that the individual has made a significant step in development.
