Answer to Question 1

Such strategies as cooperative learning, peer tutoring, and reciprocal teaching are compatible with the cooperative spirit of Navajo culture. Mr. Beezley might also relate classroom subject matter to typical day-to-day tasks in children's livesin other words, to tasks that are authentic.

Answer to Question 2

Central to the discussion of this question is the idea that students' learning is paramount, and any accommodation to students' cultural backgrounds that promotes such learning is desirable.
