Karen is metacognitively naive. She uses only rote rehearsal, repeating the material aloud without otherwise thinking about it. Furthermore, she plays musica potential source of distractionduring her study sessions. She does not appear to engage in any comprehension monitoring; she uses the same strategy to prepare for each test but makes no attempt to monitor its effectiveness.
