Answer to Question 1

The polar jet stream meanders between 30 and 70 N at the tropopause along the polar front. The subtropical jet stream meanders near the tropopause at latitudes between 20 and 50 N. Sometimes, both the polar jet stream and subtropical jet stream can occur over North America simultaneously. The two may actually merge for brief episodes.

Answer to Question 2

FALSE
