Describe the radiation emitted from both the Sun and the Earth in terms of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The sun emits shortwave radiation primarily in the visible and infrared wavelengths, while the Earth emits longwave radiation primarily in the thermal infrared wavelengths. To be more exact, approximately 8 of the Sun's emitted radiation is in the ultraviolet portion of the EM spectrum 47 is in the visible, and 45 is in the infrared. The radiation emitted from the Earth's surface is mostly within the infrared portion of the EM spectrum.
