What was the pull factor that explains the Amish settlements from Lancaster, Pennsylvania west to Iowa and Missouri and now south to Kentucky?

Answer: Acculturation describes adjustment to the dominant culture but retention of cultural values from the country of origin. Assimilation describes the process of giving up cultural traditions and adopting the social customs of the dominant culture of a place.
