Answer to Question 1

Degenerate matter is formed from the death of stars. The matter is extremely dense due to the atoms having collapsed in on themselves, driving electrons toward the nucleus from the force of gravity.

Answer to Question 2

Giants appear in the upper right-hand side of the H-R diagram, which shows stars with low surface temperature and high luminosity.

Though Candida and Aspergillus species are the most common fungal pathogens causing invasive fungal disease in the immunocompromised, infections due to previously uncommon hyaline and dematiaceous filamentous fungi are occurring more often today. Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.
