Is it a sound policy for South Korea to fish extensively in foreign waters and acquire farmland abroad? What possible advantages and disadvantages could result from such strategies?

Answer to Question 1

These sorts of activities have a neo-colonial dimension to them. The advantages are that South Korea needs resources including food that these can deliver; meanwhile, disadvantages include a political reaction to Korean activities that may impact other economic relations.
