Historically, Roman Catholics are distributed throughout western and central Europe; Protestants are found throughout the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Scandinavian countries; Judaism is distributed in small pockets throughout the region; Islam is most dominate in parts of eastern Europenotably the Balkan region.
