Consider a mountain system with three valley glaciers merging into a single, larger ice stream. Predict the number of lateral and medial moraines present before and after the creation of the larger ice stream.

Answer to Question 1

Answer: Before the creation of the ice stream you would have six lateral moraines and no medial moraines. After the merger you would have would two lateral moraines and two medial moraines.
