Answer to Question 1

There are 4 greenhouse gases discussed in the textbook:
1- Carbon dioxide (CO2)
2- Freons (CFCs)
3- Methane (CH4)
4- Nitrous oxide, N2O
Freons, though, are currently decreasing in concentration because they have been banned in order to protect the ozone layer.

Answer to Question 2

Humans cause changes to the environment that are called anthropogenic. Humans have generated local pollution ever since they first developed agricultural societies. By the burning of fossil fuels (fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas that are composed of the fossilized remains of organisms) and by deforestation, humans produce the most abundant anthropogenic greenhouse gas (CO2) on Earth. Greenhouse gases such as freons (CFCs) are entirely anthropogenic, while CO2, CH4, and N2O are partly anthropogenic.

Though Candida and Aspergillus species are the most common fungal pathogens causing invasive fungal disease in the immunocompromised, infections due to previously uncommon hyaline and dematiaceous filamentous fungi are occurring more often today. Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.
