Answer: Folk music originates from daily activities of farming, major life effects, or mysterious events; popular music is written by individuals with the purpose of commercial production.

Answer: Popular customs diffuse more rapidly, more extensively, and through modern communications. Folk customs diffuse more slowly, at a smaller scale, and through migration.
