Social pressures can lead us to distrust or distort our own perceptions. Examples of this principle could be:
 
  a. You love to play the violin, but since your friends tease you about it, you take
  up the trumpet.
  b. You hate to text but all your friends are doing it.
  c. All of these choices.
  d. You give a 20.00 bill for a 5.00 burrito to the cashier who gives you 5.00
  in change. You tell the cashier he owes you 15.00 in change. He says you
  are wrong, that you gave him a 10.00 bill; he shows you that he still has
  the 10.00 bill on top of his register drawer. You insist that you gave him
  20.00 . The people in line behind you begin to complain about the delay.
  You relent and leave wondering if you could have misread the bill.
