  a. stopping to take a break after reading from one main heading to another.
  b. reading at a convenient time so that you will be able to read the chapter straight through and then outline it.
  c. asking and answering the questions you developed in the preview stage as you read.
  d. making a check mark in the margin when you don't understand so you can come back after you read through the whole chapter.

  b. Monitor your comprehension and ask questions over what you do not understand.
