If you have not decided on a major, it is a good idea to take courses that cut across disciplines to help you sift through the possibilities. You have a good chance of discovering your major through these exploratory courses. If you are in a two-year school, you will need to make a decision fairly quickly or confirm that you feel good about the decision you've already made. If you are attending a four-year school, you can usually declare your major in your second or third year. Before you declare your major, be sure you are confident of your choice. You can change midstream, but you probably will end up taking extra classes to fulfill the requirements of your new major if none of your past coursework transfers.

Question 2

For centuries scientists have known that it is possible to produce all 150 basic hues by mixing together only a few lights of different colors. Specifically, red, green, and blue lights, the primary colors for light mixtures, can be blended to create any hue. For example, red and green lights combine to make yellow; red and blue lights together yield magenta. Combining red, green, and blue lights in equal intensities produces white. Television picture tubes use this principle to provide a full range of colors: If you look closely at the screen, you will see that the picture is actually made up of tiny red, green, and blue dots that blend together to give all possible hues. The process of mixing lights of different wavelengths is called additive color mixing, because each light adds additional wavelengths to the overall mix.
