Answer to Question 1

Permeability depends on porosity, how spaces within the rock/sediment are interconnected, and the
size of pores within the rock/sediment.

Answer to Question 2

Porosity is the percentage of open space within the rock/sediment, while permeability is the capacity
of a material for transmitting fluids.
