In what direction do longshore currents flow? What will be an ideal response?

Question 2

Why do wave sizes in ponds and lakes have less magnitude than those in oceans? What will be an ideal response?

Answer to Question 1

Longshore currents flow in the same direction as the approaching waves, and parallel to the shoreline

Answer to Question 2

Winds blow over a greater distance in the ocean; that is, they have a larger fetch and can generate
larger waves.
