The budget refers to the relative amounts of additions to the zone of accumulation versus losses in the
zone of wastage. The budget is balanced when these two factors are equal.



Answer to Question 2

The boundary can be found by locating the firn limit, that is, the elevation to which snow recedes
during a wastage season.
