Answer to Question 1

If magmas of different composition come into contact in a magma chamber, they will mix. The result
will be a magma that is different from both of the original magmas in the chamber.

Answer to Question 2

As magma rises through preexisting rock, known as country rock, it heats the walls of the conduit so
that the country rock may partially or completely melt and become part of the magma. The country
rock rarely has the same composition as the magma, so it changes the composition of the magma.

The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given.
