Felsic magma has more than 65 silica, mafic magma is less than 52 silica, and intermediate
magma falls in between. Sodium, potassium, and aluminum are higher in the more silica-rich magmas.
Calcium, iron, and magnesium are lower in the more silica-rich magmas.
