Answer to Question 1

Answer: A

Answer to Question 2

Answer: As the wave approaches shore, the base of the moving water will feel bottom, which means it will scrape against the bottom of the basin. This friction will cause the moving water at the bottom of the wave to slow down. However, the water at the top of the wave has not slowed and will move farther forward than the base, resulting in the curling wave.
