Answer to Question 2

Answer: The statement is accurate. Because of their immense size and weight, continental ice sheets move independently of the topography, wearing features down. Alpine glaciers are smaller and occupy stream valleys. They rarely are able to move independently of the terrain and make the valleys they flow through deeper and wider.
