Answer to Question 1

U-shaped valley that encloses the glacier and similar valleys visible in the background. Knife-edged ridges and pointed peaks visible along the skyline. Small hanging valleys along both sides of the glacier, but especially in the right background. Bedrock depression filled with water to form a lake.

Answer to Question 2

The toe of the glacier has receded considerably between 1955 and 1983, indicating loss of ice from the zone of wastage. Within the zone of accumulation, about the same amount of rock is exposed along the glacier edges in the background of both photos, which suggests little if any change in the zone of accumulation.
