An increased pH results in a right shift in the O2-hemoglobin dissociation curve resulting in a de-creased affinity.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Carboxyhemoglobin (HbCO) is the chemical combination of hemoglobin with CO. Hemoglobin's affinity for CO is more than 200 times greater than it is for O2.
