The paramagnetic oxygen analyzer, such as a Beckman D-2, is no longer commonly used.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Within the galvanic cell there is a semipermeable membrane that separates the gas sample from a hydroxide solution with a gold cathode and a lead anode. The polarographic cell uses a platinum cathode and a silver anode immersed in a potassium hydroxide bath.
