Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Not only do transtracheal catheters produce an overall oxygen savings, they improve patient compliance with oxygen therapy because of cosmetic appearance. Transtracheal catheters are rel-atively inconspicuous. It is also found that patients with transtracheal catheters have increased mobility.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
The flow of oxygen to a reservoir mask determines the FIO2, as do the patient's breathing pattern and the presence or absence of a reservoir bag. Those masks with a reservoir bag will have a higher FIO2 than those without a reservoir bag.
