Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
The combined-gas law describes the macroscopic behavior of gases when any or all of the varia-bles change simultaneously. As such, the combined-gas law states that the absolute pressure of a gas is inversely related to the volume it occupies and directly related to its absolute temperature, or PV/T = nR.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
When the volume of a gas is constant, the temperature of the gas will rise as the pressure is in-creased (Gay-Lussac's law). Absolute zero is a theoretical temperature that has never been reached. The size of the container does not vary directly with volume.
