Answer to Question 1

A
Communication and understanding are the basis for a good patient interview. Authority, the use of medical jargon, providing assurance, giving advice, asking leading questions, and anticipating are all types of nonproductive communication forms and create barriers to patient communication.

Answer to Question 2

B
Infected pleural exudate fluid will show a high white blood cell count and bacteria among other characteristic findings. A transudate will have a low protein level and other characteristic findings. Many red blood cells would indicate a pulmonary embolism.
