Answer to Question 1

Due to patient confidentiality and privacy laws you are not at liberty to share either patient's diagnosis. It would put the patient at risk due to his impaired immune system to visit with his sick friend. Notify the nurse so she can intervene appropriately.

Answer to Question 2

Safety is the biggest concern. The symptoms can last from 20 minutes to 24 hours. The person can feel nauseous and have emesis due to the extreme dizziness. The person is at risk for falls. It is best to have the person lie down and not move her head. Assure the person does not choke or aspirate if she does get sick. The person may be light sensitive.
