Answer to Question 1

Nursing assistants can help residents adjust to life in the nursing
home by orienting the resident and family members, giving the
resident time to adjust, being patient and warm, striving to be
consistent, and keeping their distance when necessary.

Answer to Question 2

Nursing assistants can help the family members of residents by
encouraging families to visit, including family members in the
resident's care, and preparing residents for visits with family
members.
