Feedback:
A transportation hold is placed by the police to bring the person to the hospital in an emergency (T-hold, police hold). An emergency hold is placed by a physician, and the 3-day or 72-hour hold is for evaluation of clients who are judged to be dangerous to themselves or others. The client is not allowed to leave the facility. District court hold (DCH) is placed by a court to hold the person before a preliminary commitment hearing. Assessment hold is placed by the court while determining a client's competency to stand trial for a crime.
