Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
Suggesting that the client bend the chin toward the chest while swallowing can help in preventing aspiration (choking). For meals, the nurse should elevate the head of the bed or, if possible, have the client sit in a chair. Cutting food into small bites will enable the client to chew food easily and helps prevent choking. Clients may better tolerate semisolid foods and thickened liquids and may prefer small, frequent meals to large, less frequent meals.
