Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
The nurse should assist with gastric lavage to wash out the poison from the stomach. The nurse should not provide activated charcoal with food, because charcoal absorbs the food. Besides the child is in a semiconscious state. The nurse should not administer syrup of ipecac to clients below 6 months of age, clients with decreased level of consciousness, those who are convulsing, or those who have ingested hydrocarbons or caustic agents, because it induces emesis. Tincture of ipecac is stronger than the syrup of ipecac.
