Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
The nurse should keep a check on the IV site to ensure that the catheter is in the vein. The nurse should not assume that the alarm on an infusion pump will provide warning of IV infiltration, especially for children. IV for toddlers and infants is generally administered into the scalp or neck veins, and not the vein in the forearm. The nurse should arrange for restraints to prevent the child from pulling on the tube.
