Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
The nurse should first make sure that the STAT order is on the medication administration record and then administer the medication as soon as possible. The nurse need not assess what symptoms prompted the STAT order. The nurse assesses what symptoms have prompted the client to ask for PRN medication. STAT medications should be documented as soon as they are given and not before their administration. The nurse should document the date, time, and the nurse's initials next to the original order and not the client's initials.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
The client case manager oversees the care and treatment of the client and acts as the client's advocate. Thus, the nurse should instruct the client to approach the client case manager. The nurse should not instruct the client to approach the laboratory instructor, the hospital administrator, or the physician, because they are not responsible for providing medical reimbursement.
