Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
Whenever assessing a person in an emergency, use the acronym ABCDE to help you remember the order for assessment: A = Airway and cervical spine; B = Breathing; C = Circulation and bleeding; D = Disability; E = Expose and examine. When assessing a client's eye at an emergency site, the nurse should follow PERRLA+CPE = Pupils Equal; R = Round; RL = React to Light; A = Accommodation OK; C = Coordinated. The acronym AVPU is followed while conducting a neurologic assessment at an accident scene. BCLS includes rapid entry into the emergency medical system, performance of CPR, and use of techniques to clear an obstructed airway.

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
Usually, three separate specimens are collected on three separate days, not consecutive days, before a determination of positive or negative finding is made.
