Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
Hypertension, edema, and proteinuria are conditions that characterize PIH. Not all of these parameters must be present for the diagnosis of PIH. Edema is more indicative of advancing disease and multiorgan involvement. Hypokalemia is a metabolic disorder that occurs when the level of potassium in the blood drops too low and it is not usually associated with pregnancy-induced hypertension.

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
Edema is associated with fluid volume excess, which can occur with liver cirrhosis. This disease can increase venous pressure and cause faulty reabsorption of fluids and electrolytes. A prolonged fever, excessive vomiting, and anorexia nervosa may cause fluid volume deficit and dehydration.
