Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
A Gatch bed can be lowered and raised by an electric mechanism. A Circ-O-Lectric bed rotates to move the client from prone to supine position. The oscillating bed rocks from side to side, alternating pressures from one side to the other, thus reducing pressure on any one area of the body. An air-fluidized bed keeps the client cool as required.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
An allergic reaction will occur faster and more dramatically if the medication is administered parenterally. The nurse should give no medication without first making sure that the client is not allergic to it. If there are any doubts, or if the client has a history of allergies or asthma, the physician may perform a skin (intradermal) test first.
