Answer to Question 1

A
A highly structured, short-term mentoring relationship usually is formal and has specific goals, such as during an employee orientation period. A highly structured, long-term mentoring rela-tionship is often in place when an employee or apprentice is being groomed to take over the mentor's position. This may be arranged by a corporation as a part of officer succession planning. An informal, short-term mentoring relationship is spontaneous and may be a one-time occurrence or as needed. Often such a situation happens in response to a triggering event or a change that needs to take place. An informal, long-term mentoring relationship is also called friendship mentoring. The mentor meets a variety of needs over a long period of time.

Answer to Question 2

B
All are correct except Option b. The family and support system will also have needs as they ad-just to the nurse's new situation and needs.
