Answer to Question 1

Ans: D
Feedback:
Unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) are those who are taught to perform specific tasks associated with client care and who work under the supervision of a nurse. They do not have the same level of training that the nursing assistant has, and they did not pass a state test, so they cannot perform all of the tasks that the nursing assistant can. Because of the minimal amount of training for client-related tasks, the nurse must make sure the UAP is capable of performing the task safely before delegating it.

Answer to Question 2

Ans: A
Feedback:
In team nursing, the large client unit is divided into smaller units with team members working together. Each member performs the duties for which they are best prepared. In primary nursing, a professional nurse has total responsibility for a particular client or group of clients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In total client care, one RN or LP/VN is assigned to provide all of the care a client needs. In the case method, the nurse is responsible for the entire care of one or more clients for one shift in a 24-hour period.
