They do not have the same level of training that the nursing assistant has, and they did not pass a state test, so they cannot perform all of the tasks that the nursing assistant can. Because of the minimal amount of training for client-related tasks, the nurse must make sure the UAP is capable of performing the task safely before delegating it.
