Students who use correction and comment to improve themselves and their work do not personalize the criticism, but recognize it as a part of the education they have paid for and expect. Ignoring or challenging criticism is not normally an effective practice.

It is the student's obligation to avoid contaminating the clinical environment when she has any illness that could harm or affect a client's health or well-being, or the health and well-being of others present in the clinical area. It is more important for the nursing student to exercise sound judgment and notify the instructor and the facility promptly before clinical begins of the illness and necessary absence instead of going to clinical as scheduled while ill to demonstrate eagerness to learn. It is not the responsibility of an instructor to make this decision on the student's behalf. Wearing a mask is neither realistic nor effective.
