Answer to Question 1

technique should be manual

Rationale: Patients with known joint replacements would be best imaged with a manual technique and no AEC selected. Metal within the area will cause the exposure to continue in efforts to achieve density for the part, causing over exposure and potentially the backup timer to be registered.

Answer to Question 2

cuboid

Rationale: The fourth and fifth metatarsals articulate with the cuboid. The 1st metatarsal articulates with the 1st cuneiform, the 2nd metatarsal with the 2nd cuneiform, and the 3rd metatarsal with the 3rd cuneiform.
