The ionization chamber(s) are only selected if covered entirely by the patient's part

Rationale: AEC can only be utilized when imaging the patient with image receptors positioned in the Bucky. Selection of which ionization chamber depends on the size of the part and how well it covers the cell. Different combinations of the ionization chambers can be selected.

CR system has aged and the laser is unable to extract the latent image entirely

Rationale: A phantom image can occur with CR imaging if the laser in the processor is not strong enough to erase the latent image from a previous exam. This is a sign of CR system aging.
